Madness

Festivals are all about those magic moments when truly special things happen right before your eyes and as far as our big sister Bestival is concerned one of the greatest moments the festival has ever experienced was when seven men from Camden took to the main stage as special secret guests in 2007.

So who better to headline Camp Bestival’s Saturday night than the incomparable Madness!

Commenting on the set the band said: “We love nothing more then a good old family knees up and if we get anywhere near the reception we got at Bestival in 2007 we'll feel like kings of Lulworth Castle.”

Since forming in the late seventies the band have been at the forefront of the Ska movement and during the eighties became one of the most successful bands this country has ever produced spending more time in the UK charts than any other act.

They have an extraordinary back catalogue of bone fide anthems. Songs like “Night Boat to Cairo”, “Baggy Trousers”, “Our House”, “It Must Be Love”, and “House of Fun” are all firmly cemented in the nations consciousness as some of the most brilliant pop songs ever written and helped Madness become the legends that they are today.

But it's not all about their back catalogue as the band are currently riding the crest of a critically acclaimed wave for their recent "The Liberty of Norton Folgate" album.

Led by Suggs, the best front man in the business, Madness have become renowned as one of the most exciting live propositions you’ll ever see, encapsulating everything that’s fun about music their shows are steeped in revelry and scientifically designed to put a smile on your face and a skip in your step, loved by young and old alike there really is no better band that more perfectly captures the essence of Camp Bestival and it’s incredible festival goers than Madness.
