Bookslam Feat. Patrick Neate, Laura Dockerill (Dockers MC) And Salena Godden

Book Slam was originally the brainchild of Ben Watt and Patrick Neate.  At the time Ben was a writer, DJ and pop star, Patrick, a writer and pop tart.

Book Slam’s mission from the beginning was simple, to reinvigorate and reinvent the stilted world of the book reading and bring literature into a more exciting social context. They’ve achieved this by borrowing a little rock and roll ethos from the live music scene and transporting it into the world of spoken word and literature to create London’s first, best and only literary nightclub.

Past performers at the club have included Nick Hornby, Adele, Irvin Welsh, Plan B and Zaddie Smith to name but a few.

Book Slam lands at Camp Bestival 2009 with performances from amongst others the man that started it all Patrick Neate, Laura Dockrill a.k.a Dockers MC and punk poet Salena Godden and promises to be one of the highlights of our literature and spoken word line-ups.
