Highlights of Camp Bestival 2011 included a Swan Lake flashmob when English National Ballet appeared on the Castle Stage with ZingZillas to teach everybody the steps to the famous ballet piece, Ed Sheeran popping up in the Dingly Dell for a secret set, Laura Marling playing a mesmerising set in the Big Top while Jack Whitehall and Michael “motormouth” Winslow had us in the palm of their hands with their extraordinary comedy routines.

The kids will never forget meeting Peppa Pig and Shrek, their incredible journeys around The House Of Fairy Tales or legendary kids TV hosts Dick & Dom introducing Mr Tumble, The Gruffalo and ZingZillas on the Castle Stage. More musical treats included Blondie, Mark Ronson & The Business Intl plus a host of friends, Primal Scream presents Screamadelica, House Of Pain, Katy B, ABC, Groove Armada presents Red Light and Eliza Doolittle.

Other magical moments included Howard Marks and Keith Allen reading Children’s Stories on the Bandstand, Sara Cox judging the Family Talent Show, the grand finale of Come Dancing, the incredible Square Peg Circus Company, Lilli Vanilli’s cake competition plus scrumptious food and drinks from Hugh’s River Cottage Café, Gizzi Erskine’s Tiki Tea Love Lounge and Kerstin Rodgers’ The Underground Restaurant.

Sunday night saw the fuse lit for the sizzling finale: an epic fireworks, medieval themed animation and music display created by Two Tigers Fireworks, Chroma Collective and Brightonart that used the backdrop of Lulworth Castle and drew a close to Camp Bestival 2011 in true style. Check out a clip of the fireworks finale here. Full offical video coming next week!
