Car Sharing
The greatest negative environmental impact of any festival is caused by transport, mostly by cars. In fact approximately 90% of a festival's carbon footprint is caused by vehicle travel to and from the festival. It's really very easy to get to Camp Bestival by public transport and it will also be much cheaper for you!
If you must come by car though, please fill it up with people! Even if you only have one space free in your car, please head over to the Camp Bestival car sharing page at www.liftshare.org and get yourselves signed up. Likewise, of course, to anyone who is looking for a lift. What's more, this service is entirely free to use (you simply share the travel costs).
In 2007 the people who used our Liftshare service to get to and from Bestival on the Isle of Wight saved 115,386 miles of car travel, 35 tonnes of CO2, 11,761 trees and £11,539 of their own money. That sounds pretty good but we want to do much much better than that this year!
