King Creosote

There are well kept secrets and then there’s Kenny Anderson. Never a fan of the obvious nor the easy, the musical brain behind Fife's finest purveyors of new folk, King Creosote and the Fence Collective still lives where he was born and raised in the Scottish town, never feeling the need to head south in the quest for fame and fortune. Not that he’s not had the opportunity to of course, there’s his old backing singer from former band Skuobie Dubh, KT Tunstall, or maybe his own brother Gordon, founding member of The Beta Band, or even his compatriots from Falkirk Arab Strab.

But no, Anderson has spent the last 20 years perfecting his craft and releasing his output on his own Fence imprint, despite the efforts of major labels to lure him away. His music is all the better for it too, a collection of lilting folk shanties capable of melting the firmest heart and spreading a smile across the Camp Bestival masses.
